International Forum of Meteorological Societies - Global Meeting Three (IFMS GM3)
The IFMS was created to foster and encourage communication and exchange of knowledge, ideas and resources among the world's more than sixty meteorological societies.
The IFMS GM3 hosted jointly by the Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS) and the European Meteorological Society (EMS) will take place 12 – 13 September 2013 at the University of Reading, United Kingdom, in conjunction with the 13th Annual Meeting of the European Meteorological Society (EMS) and the 11th European Conference on Applications of Meteorology (ECAM) being held at the University of Reading from 09 – 13 September 2013.
Draft IFMS GM3 Agenda
The themes of the sessions of GM3 are specifically concentrated on the functions of the meteorological societies such as:
- Evaluation of online lecture programme
- Publications; the impact of open access and green open access on Professional and Learned Societies
- Education: sharing educational resources
- Community donations to Regional Training Centres
- International recognition of professional qualifications
- Sharing best practice initiatives
- Public communication on climate science
